Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you sign in with Google, Twitch or Discord, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that service. If you sign in with an email link instead, we only receive your email address. We never see or store a password.

When you start a stream session, we collect the public chat messages from the channel you choose to analyze, together with the name each message was posted under. These are the same messages anyone watching that stream can see. They are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) for analysis and stored in your account so your dashboard, history and stream reports keep working.

When you send feedback through the button in the corner of the page, we store what you wrote along with the page you sent it from, the type of browser and device you used, your language setting and time zone, and the country your request came from. All of that is about the session, not about you: we never store your IP address, only a one-way hash of it, and only so that a single source cannot flood us. Your email address is optional and we keep it only when you are not signed in — otherwise there is already somewhere to answer you.

How we use your data

• To provide real-time chat analysis (top questions, sentiment, spam detection)
• To generate post-stream summaries
• To display session history, viewer history and analytics in your dashboard
• To send you stream reports and weekly summaries (you can turn these off in your account)
• To keep the service secure and working, and to fix problems when something breaks
• To improve streamerfriend using aggregated, de-identified statistics — for example how many messages a typical stream has, or which features get used. These never identify you or your viewers.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or your chat data with third parties for advertising or marketing. Your chat data is used to run your account and to improve the service as described above, and nothing else.

Third-party services

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Google Gemini — AI analysis of chat messages
• Vercel — hosting, infrastructure, and privacy-friendly traffic analytics
• Polar — payments and subscriptions. They are the merchant of record; we never see or store your card details.
• Resend — sending the emails you have asked for
• Sentry — error reporting, so we find out when something breaks before you have to tell us
• Ahrefs Web Analytics — cookieless visitor statistics: which pages are visited and roughly where from. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising profile.

Each of these services has their own privacy policies which govern how they handle data.

Data retention

We keep your account data and the chat from your sessions for as long as your account exists, so your stream history, viewer history and past reports are always there when you come back. Nothing expires on you.

When you delete your account, everything goes with it — your profile, every session, every stored chat message, every analysis and report. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Error reports and billing records kept by our service providers follow their own retention periods.

Your rights

You are in control of your data, and you do not need to ask us for any of it. From your account page you can download a copy of everything we hold about you, turn off emails, and delete your account permanently.

For anything else — correcting something, or a question about your data — write to privacy@streamerfriend.com. If you are a viewer and want your messages removed from a streamer's history, write to the same address with your username and the channel, and we will remove them.
